Dale Fuchs, Adviser
Hi NewSLU readers! As adviser, I try to ensure this newspaper adheres as closely as possible to professional journalistic standards. I worked as a newspaper reporter and writer for 20 years before devoting myself to teaching. During my time as a Madrid-based freelance correspondent, I wrote about Spanish breaking news, politics, business, arts, fashion and travel for The New York Times, The Guardian and The Independent. My articles on Spain also appeared in regional U.S. newspapers such as The Boston Globe and The Miami Herald, and in the Spanish daily El Mundo. I originally came to Spain in 1998 on a Fulbright Fellowship for journalists. My passion is feature writing, and so I try to encourage students to pursue narrative opportunities and quirky angles. I hope you enjoy the hard work of our staff and contributors.
